Are Teens More Vulnerable to EMF’s and How to Keep Them Safe.
Four key factors contribute to the increased health risks faced by teenagers:
- Their heads are proportionally smaller, and their skulls are thinner. This anatomical difference allows radiation to penetrate deeper into their brains compared to adults, reaching the most sensitive areas.
- Teen brains contain a higher percentage of water. This elevated extracellular water content makes their brain tissues more conductive, which can lead to a wider spread of radiation and potentially intensify the harmful effects of exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs).
- They are in a phase of growth. EMFs can cause DNA damage at the cellular level. Since teenagers are growing, their cells are dividing and multiplying (a process known as mitosis) more quickly than those of adults, resulting in a faster replication of any DNA damage.
- They are younger and face longer exposure over their lifetimes. This increased cumulative exposure heightens their susceptibility to the long-term adverse health effects of EMFs, such as cancer. With the rapid development of EMF-emitting technologies, teenagers are being exposed at younger ages than ever before.
What Steps Can I Take to Protect My Teen from EMF?
- Opt for a wired headset instead of using wireless options like AirPods.
- If you choose to wear AirPods, limit their use to short periods, such as during a class or while exercising, and remove them afterward. Consider using them sparingly rather than throughout the day.
- Choose texting over talking to keep your phone away from your head.
- Disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in your device settings when they’re not in use, as they continuously emit EMF, in addition to the emissions from your cellular network. 5. Relocate all electronic devices from your bedroom before sleeping. Avoid having your phone in bed or under your pillow.
- Create a designated charging station in a central area of your home and store all devices there overnight.
- Refrain from charging your phone near your sleeping or sitting areas, as the charger emits EMF when plugged in.
- If you use your phone as an alarm, switch it to airplane mode and ensure that WIFI and Bluetooth are turned off before bedtime.
- If you need your phone on at night, increase the ringer volume and place it in the hallway outside your bedroom, or as far away as possible while still being able to hear it.
- Use EMF Protection devices to mitigate the harmful effects.
Products and devices that protect teens from EMF radiation will become more commonplace and popular within households. We must be willing to open our minds and adapt our legislation, our business practices, and our health and safety practices to our rapidly evolving world. As technology evolves, society must evolve alongside it.
