There are only four methods for oxygenating water:

The Big Pitcher makes use of the last method for the most efficient oxygenation.  When you drink water that is fully saturated with oxygen, you’re NOT drinking a free gas.  As oxygen becomes dissolved into water, it becomes a physical property of the water itself and as such is absorbed by the body in the tissues of the mouth and esophagus as a component of the water.

Of course, the chemical property of water is H2O and The Big Pitcher doesn’t change that.  Once the oxygen is dissolved into the water, (which takes about
20 minutes), the oxygen level is maintained for up to 4 hours.  Place the pitcher in your refrigerator if you like cold water.

Because The Big Pitcher dissolves O2 from ambient air (much as what occurs in the lungs at the alveoli/capillary interface), and because it is a natural process, there is never a possibility of oxygen toxicity.
