Mind Alive (DAVID)

The DAVID Delight Plus is the most popular model in the Delight family: 28 built-in sessions, five in every category, plus three gamma sessions the base Delight does not have. No app, no subscription, nothing to program.

Made by Mind Alive Inc. in Edmonton, Canada, the Plus is designed for people who want real choice in their routine. Different depths, different lengths, different approaches to the same goal, so the session that fits a rough Tuesday is there when you need it.

Designed to support

• Stress regulation and a calmer baseline over weeks of regular use
• Easier sleep onset and staying asleep
• Focus, attention, and mental clarity
• Mood support and emotional balance
• Energy in the morning without caffeine

28 built-in sessions

About the gamma sessions

Gamma activity around 40 Hz is associated with higher-level processing and sharp attention. The Plus includes three ways to work with it: a session that cycles between 40 Hz and the calming SMR range (12 to 15 Hz), a randomized session that varies around 38 to 42 Hz, and a fixed 40 Hz session. Gamma stimulation is an active area of research; we describe it as a focus tool, not a treatment.

How it works

Audio-Visual Entrainment (AVE) delivers gentle pulses of light through the eyeset and matching tones through the headphones. The brain tends to fall into step with a steady rhythm, a response called frequency following, which researchers can observe on EEG within a few minutes. Each session is built around a target range: faster rhythms for alertness, slower rhythms for relaxation and sleep. Sessions end with a gradual soft-off fade so you are not startled.

AVE has been studied for more than 30 years. Published work includes shorter sleep onset in older adults using evening sessions, improved seasonal mood scores with morning sessions, attention gains in students, and mood and balance improvements in seniors. Mind Alive's own pilot studies are small (6 to 8 participants) and are described as such on their research pages. We share this so you can weigh the evidence for yourself.

Technology

• Tru-Vu Omniscreen eyeset. Eight blue-tinted white LEDs behind a translucent screen spread light evenly across both eyes and can drive each side at a different rate.
• Randomized stimulation. Small variations within each session help the brain follow the rhythm without habituating to it.
• Night-Vue buttons. Raised, illuminated controls you can find in the dark without opening your eyes.
• Soft-off fade. Light and sound dim gradually at the end of every session.
• Portable power. Runs on the included 9-volt battery or the AC adapter.

Choose your eyeset

• Standard (white) eyeset, eyes closed. Soft white light seen through closed eyelids as shifting patterns. A clean, neutral choice for calm, focus, and sleep.
• Multi-Color eyeset, eyes closed. Adds color to each session: blue for calm and sleep, green for meditation, yellow for focus, red for energy.

What's included

• DAVID Delight Plus device
• Tru-Vu Omniscreen LED eyeset (Standard or Multi-Color, per your selection) with carry case
• Stereo headphones and patch cord
• AC adapter and 9-volt battery
• Large DAVID carry bag
• Quick start guide and operator's manual

Warranty

1-year manufacturer warranty from Mind Alive Inc. on the device and LED eyeset, covering defects in materials and workmanship.

Which DAVID is right for you?

The Delight has 10 sessions and is the easiest place to start. The Delight Plus has 28 sessions including gamma. The Delight Pro has the same 28 sessions and adds Cranio-Electro Stimulation (CES). The Premier is the programmable, practitioner-level model with the full-color Spectrum eyeset.

DAVID devices are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. They are designed to be used alongside, never instead of, any care you already have. Individual experiences vary.

The DAVID Delight Pro combines two technologies in one handheld device: Audio-Visual Entrainment (AVE) and Cranio-Electro Stimulation (CES). Run them together for a deeper session, or use either one on its own.

Made by Mind Alive Inc. in Edmonton, Canada, the Pro carries the full 28-session library of the Delight Plus and adds ear-clip CES for people who want more than light and sound. It is the model we suggest for practitioners and for home users who have outgrown a preset-only device.

Designed to support

• A deeper, more reliable calm during and after sessions
• Sleep onset and a settled evening routine
• Focus and attention during demanding work
• Mood support and stress regulation
• Recovery from mental fatigue

What is CES?

Cranio-Electro Stimulation delivers a very small pulsed current (100 microamps, 0.5 to 100 Hz) across the head through soft ear-clip electrodes. Most people feel a faint tingle at the clips or nothing at all. CES has its own research history for stress, sleep, and mood, and it is used clinically alongside AVE. On the Delight Pro, the CES rate automatically follows whichever AVE session is running, or you can select the standalone 100 Hz CES mode with no light or sound.

Which DAVID is right for you?

The Delight has 10 sessions and is the easiest place to start. The Delight Plus adds 18 more sessions including three gamma protocols. The Delight Pro adds Cranio-Electro Stimulation (CES) on top of AVE. The Premier is the programmable, practitioner-level model with the full-color Spectrum eyeset.

The DAVID Premier is Mind Alive's top-of-the-line brain machine and the only DAVID that puts AVE, CES, and optional microcurrent (MET) and tDCS expansion in one unit, with a lighted display that shows what the device is doing in real time.

It ships with the Spectrum eyeset, which produces roughly 200,000 color combinations and can be tuned to a specific goal or color-therapy protocol. This is the model for practitioners, researchers, and dedicated self-optimizers who want control over every parameter rather than a fixed menu.

Designed to support

• Practitioner protocols across sleep, stress, focus, mood, and pain categories
• Fine-tuned light, sound, and CES parameters for individual clients
• Color-therapy work with a calibratable full-color eyeset
• Deep relaxation and meditation training

Sessions and modalities

• 83 built-in sessions: 49 AVE and 34 CES, in categories including Energize, Meditate, Sleep, Wellness, Focus, Mood, Pain, and Gamma, plus 30+ Premier-exclusive protocols
• AVE across the full range from sub-delta to gamma (40 Hz)
• CES through ear-clip electrodes at 100 microamps; can run alone or at the same time as AVE
• MET and tDCS expansion available as separate kits (sold separately, not included)
• Custom sessions. Compatible with Mind Alive's DAVID Studio software (Windows PC) for building your own protocols and pairing them with audio

• Every parameter adjustable before and during a session: rate, intensity, tones, colors, CES settings, pulse width.
• Portable. AC adapter and battery included; no computer or phone required to run sessions.

Choose your eyeset

• Spectrum, eyes closed. The widest color range, for fine-tuning the light to whatever goal you have in mind.
• Spectrum Viewhole, eyes open. The same color range in a view-through frame, handy for reading, training, or biofeedback while a session runs.

What's included

• DAVID Premier device
• Spectrum or Spectrum Viewhole full-color eyeset, per your selection
