Unit price / perThe purpose of an Activator is to provide an optimal sustain when activating your tuning forks, with minimal noise intrusion from the strike. In Sound Healing the strike of the tuning fork should be as unobtrusive as possible. The rubber material was chosen carefully for its level of firmness, to provide an ideal surface when activating your tuning forks, both weighted and un-weighted.
If the material is too hard, the strike will produce an unpleasant noise and undue wear on the tuning fork, and your hand/wrist. Too soft, and the activation is weak and the sustain of the vibration will be less.
Ohm Therapeutics Activator is made from a latex-free and lead-free virgin material that is virtually odorless, in consideration of the healing environment in which these tools are used. Prop 65 Safe.
*Using the palm of your hand or knee to activate a tuning fork is never recommended. Using the body to strike a tuning fork limits the amount of energy available from the struck tuning fork – the palm of hand is not a very “hard” surface. Using a knee could damage the kneecap (hairline fracture, bruising), and is also never recommended. When using an object that is too hard (e.g., hockey puck), repeated use can damage a tuning fork, and the strike makes a very loud noise, not conducive to Sound Healing.
Use Ohm Therapeutics custom made Activator(s) as a surface to firmly strike your tuning fork to “activate” vibration. All Ohm Therapeutics Activators are latex-free, virtually odorless and can be use with all tuning forks, weighted and unweighted.
