A full octave, played by the wind. The Harmonic Wind Chime carries eight pipes tuned to a complete C major scale in just intonation: C 256, D 288, E 320, F 341.3, G 384, A 426.7, B 480, and C 512 Hz. Because every interval is a pure whole-number ratio, the pipes ring together with none of the beating you hear in ordinary chimes, and every gust plays a fragment of melody rather than a clash. Sound healers pair the eight notes with the seven chakras plus the octave, the same layout as our Harmonic Spectrum tuning forks.

About 48 inches long with 1 inch heat-treated aluminum pipes, a wood top and center that keep the pipes aligned, and a light wind catcher that sounds in a gentle breeze. Suits porches, gardens, studios, and treatment rooms.

The eight pipes are cut to the notes of a C major scale built on C 256 Hz, the tuning sometimes called scientific pitch, using Pythagorean and just-intonation ratios (2:1, 3:2, 4:3, 5:4 and so on). Pure ratios mean the overtones of one pipe line up with the fundamentals of the others, so the chord is unusually clean. When the wind catcher moves, the wooden striker sounds the pipes and you hear intervals of that scale.

In sound healing practice, C through B are paired with the root through crown chakras, and the high C returns to the root an octave up. What does "just intonation" mean?

Modern instruments use equal temperament, which slightly detunes every interval so any key sounds acceptable. Just intonation keeps the intervals as exact ratios, so a fifth is exactly 3:2 and a major third exactly 5:4. Chords sound smoother and more settled. Since a chime plays in one key, it can use the pure version.

How does it pair with the Sharp chime?

The Sharp Wind Chime carries five pipes tuned to the notes between these: C# 266.6, D# 300, F# 355.5, G# 400, and A# 444.4 Hz. Together the two make a complete chromatic octave.
