This KDF™ water filter cartridge uses copper-zinc and granular activated coconut shell carbon filtration.

Our KDF™ water filter replacement cartridge employs state of the art filtration with KDF™ and GAC (granular activated coconut shell carbon). Our KDF™ filtration is proven effective in removing chlorine and reducing lead and other heavy metals.

In addition, our KDF™ filtration also helps to pH balance the water and reduces scaling due to hardness. It also helps to keep the filtration media bacteriostatic. As it initially removes chlorine from the water, KDF™ (copper-zinc) component thereby extends the filtration capacity of the granular activated coconut shell carbon.

Granular Activated Carbon is proven to be an excellent media for the filtration of water borne chemicals such as chlorine, trihalomethanes, and VOCs (volatile organic compounds) including herbicides and pesticides. When carbon is activated, heated to 1000+ degrees, its pores expand and enable it to trap a host of undesirable substances and remove them from the water. Coconut shell Carbon also sweetens the taste of water.

The KDF™ water filter replacement cartridge offers a Total of 4 Filtration Stages

Stage 1: 100 micron-bonded poly fiber, eliminates dirt, sediment, rust and other particles the size of a human hair.

Stage 2: 1.5 lbs. of KDF™ (copper-zinc) media removes chlorine, reduces lead and other heavy metals. Also reduces scale build-up and helps keep unit bacteriostatic.

Stage 3: Granular Activated Carbon further reduces chlorine, THMs (trihalomethanes), VOCs (volatile organic chemicals), undesirable tastes and odors.

Stage 4: 50 micron spun-bonded polypropylene filters undesirable remaining particles.

Our Ultimate Fluoride II water filter replacement cartridges are specifically designed for removing fluoride from your drinking water along with other foundation chemicals like chlorine, chloramine, THMs, VOCs, heavy metals & some forms of pharmaceutical waste. You have a choice of purchasing a 1 micron catalytic carbon block cartridge or our KDF Blue granular carbon cartridge (good for people with hard and or sediment rich water) along with our fluoride removal cartridge.

8 stages of filtration that can protect you and your family with some of the finest filtration technology that is proven to significantly reduce fluoride in your drinking water as well as chloramines, chlorine, VOCs (volatile organic contaminants), THMs (trihalomethanes), lead and other heavy metals along with particulates such as asbestos. It will also protect you from cyst bacteria such as cryptosporidium and giardia (carbon block cartridge only). Cartridge #1: Fluoride Water Filter Pre-Filtration

Stage 1: 100 micron reticulated poly foam (filters particles the size of a human hair)
Stage 2: 550 grams of pre-conditioned fine mesh Activated Alumina (designed to reduce fluorides to below 0.5 ppm)
Stage 3: High efficiency GAC (granular activated coconut shell carbon) for the removal of chlorine, taste and odor.
Stage 4: 20 micron spun-bonded polypropylene (filters particulates 1/4th the size of a human hair).

Cartridge #2: 1 Micron Compressed Carbon Block Water Filter
Stage 1: Protective polypropylene netting (filtration of large-size particles {dirt, sediment, rust etc.)
Stage 2: 15 micron bonded polypropylene layer (filtration of medium-size particles)
Stage 3: 5 micron melt-blown polypropylene layer (filtration of fine particles)
Stage 4: This final stage is a carbon block compressed to a 1 micron pore size with radial filtration. This technology prevents channeling or bypassing of water, has proven to reduce or eliminate chloramine, chlorine with attendant THMs, VOCs (volatile organic chemicals), lead and heavy metals, micro-organisms (giardia and cryptosporidium) and particles larger than 1 micron.
