Red Rubber Tuning Fork Activator | Puck Style, for Weighted and Unweighted Forks

The right surface makes the fork sing. The Red Rubber Tuning Fork Activator is a dense rubber puck that gives your fork a clean, stable strike every time. Tap a fork on a table and you get a harsh clack, stray overtones, and slow damage to the tines; tap it on your knee and you get a weak note and a sore knee. A puck is firm enough to send full energy into the fork and soft enough to protect it, which is why practitioners keep one on the treatment cart and one in the bag.

We especially recommend it for weighted forks, which need a firm, steady platform. Works with every tuning fork we sell, weighted or unweighted.

$14.99

Hold the fork by the stem and tap one tine firmly against the flat face of the puck. The rubber compresses just enough to launch a clean vibration without the metallic clack of a hard surface, so the fundamental rings clear and the sustain lasts. Because the puck sits still on a table or in your palm, weighted forks activate consistently, strike after strike.

  • Firm, stable striking surface for a clean, consistent tone
  • Protects the fork: no metal-on-metal, no hard-surface damage
  • Best choice for weighted forks
  • Works with all tuning forks, weighted and unweighted
  • Dense rubber, compact and travel-ready

Which activator?

Red Rubber Puck: a firm, stable disc, our first choice for weighted forks.

Activator with Fork Storage: the same firm rubber with a center hole that parks one fork between strikes.

Ohm Therapeutics Activator: latex-free, odorless rubber chosen for sustain, 2.5 in disc.

  • Style: puck, red rubber

  • Strike the fork on the activator, never on a table, the knee, or another fork; hard surfaces add overtones and can crack a fork
  • A firm, short tap is enough; you do not need force
  • Keep away from small children

Why not strike the fork on my knee or a table?

Skin and bone are too soft for a clean strike and a knee can bruise or worse. A table or another fork is too hard: it adds unwanted overtones and can crack the fork over time. A rubber activator is firm enough for full energy and soft enough to protect the metal.

Weighted or unweighted forks?

Both. Weighted forks (used on the body) need a firmer, more stable surface, which is where a puck excels. Unweighted forks (used near the ears) activate easily on any rubber activator.

Puck or the activator with storage?

Same rubber, same strike. The Activator with Fork Storage adds a center hole that holds one fork upright between strikes, useful on a cart. The plain puck is the simpler, smaller piece.
