The Big Berkey gravity water filtration system holds 2.25 gallons and is sized for small to medium families, travel, and emergencies. Constructed from polished AISI 304 stainless steel, it ships with two Black Berkey purification elements and expands to four for higher flow. Sits 19.25" tall in use and nests to 13" for transport.

Fill the upper chamber with tap, well, or untreated water. Gravity slowly draws the water through the Black Berkey® Purification Elements into the lower chamber, where filtered water is dispensed through the spigot. Optional PF-2 elements can be threaded onto the bottom of the Black Berkey filters for fluoride and arsenic reduction. With four elements, the system filters up to 7 gallons per hour at full flow.

For everyday use, the Big Berkey easily serves 1–4 people. In emergencies with 4 elements, it can serve up to 85–170 people per day.

Do I need electricity or plumbing?

No. Berkey systems use gravity — no power or plumbing required.

Can I add fluoride filters?

Yes — up to 4 Berkey PF-2™ elements can be added in the lower chamber for fluoride and arsenic reduction.

How fast does it filter?

Up to 3.5 gallons per hour with two elements, or up to 7 gallons per hour with four. Flow slows as the upper chamber empties.

Is shipping included to HI and AK?

Free shipping is not available on Berkey products to Hawaii or Alaska.
