432 Hz Wind Chime | Natural Tuning in 5 Octave Tubes

The warmer A, carried on the breeze. The 432 Hz Wind Chime carries five slim aluminum tubes tuned to 432 Hz and its higher octaves. 432 Hz is the alternative concert pitch, a hair below the modern standard of 440, that many musicians and sound healers describe as softer and more grounded. Hearing it in octaves gives a clear, unison ring, and the small format sounds in the lightest draft, so it works by a window or on a covered porch as well as in a garden.

About 30 inches long with 1/2 inch tubes, the longest 18 inches, this is the small format: gentle enough for a bedroom or treatment room and light enough to hang almost anywhere.

Five hollow aluminum tubes are cut so the longest rings at 432 Hz and the shorter ones at its higher octaves. Octaves share the same pitch class, so when the striker sounds several tubes at once you hear one note reinforced across octaves, a clear unison rather than a chord.

432 Hz is A tuned eight cycles below the modern 440 Hz standard. It has been used as a concert pitch at various points in history and is favored in sound healing for a warmer, more relaxed quality. What research supports: a single clear tone held in the room is an easy anchor for attention, and calm environmental sound lowers perceived stress. Claims about 432 Hz acting on cells or DNA are not supported; the benefit is the sound itself.

Why 432 Hz instead of 440?

Modern instruments tune A to 440 Hz. 432 Hz is the same note eight cycles lower, and many listeners find it slightly warmer and more relaxed. Sound healers often work in 432 tuning for that reason. We also carry a 432 Hz chime bar.

432 or 528?

Both are single-frequency small chimes of the same size. 432 Hz is warmer and a little lower; 528 Hz is brighter and belongs to the Solfeggio scale. If you tune your practice to 432, choose this one.

Can it stay outdoors year-round?

The aluminum pipes handle weather well. A covered spot protects the wood parts.
